University Teachers

Discovery Academy's staff consists of PhD Professors & Researchers, Masters, and Bachelor degree teachers. Teachers in Discovery Academy only educate students on courses that they have previously studied in University using the University Curriculum in Grade 12 to prepare students to not simply survive, but succeed in their post-secondary education. Through interactive course content, teachers engage the whole class room to awaken joy in create expression and knowledge. Discovery Academy uses a student-centered approach, rather than teacher-centered. Student-centered means the teacher doesn't simply act as an educator, but approaches students in both a professional and friendly manner. Through personal conversations, students and teachers find commonalities that allow mutual respect of each other and that leads to success. The student learns, and the teacher teaches. .

Individual Attention

Each student is analyzed by the teacher at the beginning of the year to understand each student's expectations and goals. Due to our small sized classes of 5-12 students, our University teachers have the privilege to approach each student as an individual and address their areas of weaknesses and make them into strengths. Through close contact with the students, and their parents, this individual attention allows students to be organized and ahead in their studies. If a student displays signs of struggle, the teacher will address the situation in a professional manner by providing extra one on one help online and in class.

The owner of the school is a PhD Researcher at the University of Toronto and promoted the use of 21st Century learning methods in Discovery Academy due to our ever changing economy. It is so unstable that students have to prepare themselves by having a flexible mind and the ability to change directions at any given moment. This unique Biofeedback training starts from an analysis of the brain.. The data that is conducted from the participant is evaluated and weak areas of the brain are located. This program works on improving those areas in memory, attention, relaxation, and most importantly focus. Through fun games, students and adults of all ages get to see their concentration improve drastically in a matter of 3-6 months. Patience is part of relaxation, and is an essential key to the mind. Discovery Academy makes sure that each student gets the right approach necessary to improve on all areas of our intuitive mind.
